Sales tax filing tracker

Every Minnesota sales tax return: when it’s due, what you owe, and what’s filed and paid.

How this tracker works

Add each return you file with the Minnesota Department of Revenue. Monthly and quarterly returns are due the 20th of the month after the period, annual returns February 5; a date on a weekend or holiday moves to the next business day, and the dates here already include that. You must file every period, even with no sales: that is a $0 return. This tracker keeps your records only. You file and pay in Minnesota e-Services, and nothing here goes into your Accounting books.

Every Minnesota sales tax return, with its due date.

Tell us how often you file and we list each return for the year, with due dates already moved off weekends and holidays. Then record what you collected, filed and paid, one period at a time, and see what is due next.

For exampleOctober 2026 · monthly · due Nov 20 · $8,400 taxable · $577.50 tax · filed and paid Nov 18

  • Monthly and quarterly returns are due the 20th of the month after the period. Annual returns are due February 5.
  • No sales in a period? You still file a $0 return.
  • Paying late costs 5% of the unpaid tax, rising to 15%, plus interest. Filing late adds another 5%.
